From the foreword* in RESURGAM:
Remember
You are the hands of the present generation.
You hold the hands of a future generation.
You hold the hands of past generations, some now departed,
and they in turn held the hands of older generations.
Hearts that once beat with life still beat in remembrance.
Now that the book is out in the world (although a limited number of preview copies), I see the bigger pricture and interconnectedness. RESURGAM began as a "speck of light in the darkness," one man's attempt to honor his buddies that were unknown soldiers to me. I learned about the soldiers, and now due to RESURGAM, I'm hearing from them and learning more.
The behind-the-scenes back stories are important. They tell the living story of remembrance that grows stronger with each connection. My goal moving forward is to share some of these stories and to highlight the importance of community and reaching out to others.
